Well-maintained gear lasts longer and performs better. Here's how to look after your Urban Commuter products.

Bags and Backpacks

• Wipe down with a damp cloth after each use in rain.
• Hand wash or use a delicate cycle (30°C) with a mesh laundry bag.
• Do not tumble dry — air dry in a well-ventilated area.
• Re-apply DWR waterproofing spray every 6–12 months.

Helmets

• Wipe the interior padding with a mild soap solution monthly.
• Never submerge a helmet in water.
• Replace after any significant impact, even if damage is not visible.
• Replace every 5 years regardless of condition.

Bike Lights and Electronics

• Remove batteries or unplug before long-term storage.
• Store in a dry location — avoid garages with extreme temperature changes.
• Clean lens covers with a soft microfibre cloth only.
